After a war of words in the buildup, Mike Tyson and Jake Paul embraced upon completing eight rounds of heavyweight action.

Paul defeated Tyson by unanimous decision, with the judges scoring the bout 80-72, 79-73 and 79-73, all for Paul. The pre-fight hype outshined the action in the ring, but none can deny Tyson's heart after going the distance with a seasoned puncher over three decades younger than him.

"I didn't prove nothing to anybody, only to myself," Tyson said in the ring afterwards.

Tyson came out aggressive, but Paul used his feet well to avoid a close-range brawl with the Hall of Famer. Paul used his superior reach to establish distance and box from range, where he was able to tag Tyson consistently.

Tyson had moments where he made Paul uncomfortable, but Paul did well to weather any pressure before re-establishing his preferred range. In the end, Paul outlanded Tyson 78-18, landing 28% of his punches compared to 18% for Tyson.

"He was exactly what I thought, one of the greatest to ever do it," Paul said afterwards. "He's an icon, he's a legend ..."

Katie Taylor edges out Amanda Serrano in fight of the year candidate

In stark contrast to the main event, Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano's rematch in the co-main event will go down as an all-time great battle between two of the best female fighters to ever step in a ring.

Taylor edged out yet another controversial decision, beating Serrano by unanimous decision. All three judges' scorecards read 95-94 for Taylor.

"This is an amazing moment again for women's boxing," Taylor said after the fight. "We put on a show, we put on a performance again for everybody and I just thank God for another amazing night."

It was 12 rounds of back-and-forth action, as Serrano employed her typical all gas offense and Taylor looked to box and counterpunch from the back foot. Serrano was cut by an accidental headbutt midway through the fight, which only worsened as the fight continued.

Taylor tied up throughout to quell Serrano's pressure, which resulted in a clash of heads on multiple occasions, something Serrano and her team claimed was purposeful after the bout. Taylor was deducted a point in Round 8 for headbutting.

"Well I definitely didn't agree with the point deduction but, I certainly wasn't fighting dirty," Taylor said. "Sometimes it just gets rough in there and you have to prepare for those moments."

Serrano outlanded Taylor 324-217 in the fight, but the punch stats don't accurately reflect the ebbs and flows of the bout, which could've seen either woman's hand raised after 10 thrilling rounds of elite-level boxing.

"I went up three divisions. I am the featherweight champion of the world and I want to be great," Serrano said. "I want to fight the best and listen, it is what it is."
